rof. Dr. Muhammad Ashekur Rahman Bhuya was born in 1969 in Khewai village of Sadar Upazila of Brahmanbaria district in a noble Muslim family. After passing secondary and higher secondary examinations from Comilla Cadet College with merit, he obtained MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College in 1996. He then obtained his FCPS degree in ENT in 2008. He has been working in ENT and Head-Neck Surgery Department with reputation for 25 years and has been working in Head Neck Surgery and Oncology Department at National Nose, Ear and Throat Institute, Tejgaon, Dhaka for last 9 years. He is currently leading the Department of Head-Neck Surgery as a professor at the National Neck and Neck Institute.
He has received advanced training on head-neck cancer from BSMMU and other institutes of Bangladesh and from India, Singapore, France and other countries of the world. He has presented many researches and works on head-neck surgery in various national and international conferences. He is the founder of Bangladesh Laryngectomy Club and he is the pioneer of microscopic thyroid and parotid surgery in Bangladesh.
He is a renowned thyroid cancer surgeon in Bangladesh and has performed more than 700 thyroid cancer surgeries. He has performed more than 70 laryngectomy operations for incurable diseases like laryngeal cancer. He has performed more than 500 neck dissection operations. He has vast experience in parotid cancer surgery. He has performed more than 100 parotid cancer surgeries. He has experience of more than 150 tongue cancer surgeries. He is also very experienced in other surgeries of nose ear throat and head neck.
He performs any head neck cancer surgery without bleeding and he is very skilled and experienced in bleeding free surgery.
